Kelsey Ramage started her career as a bartender accidentally. Sitting at home alone in her Toronto dorm room on a Saturday night, she received a phone call from a new roommate asking her if she wanted to take cover charge at a big, upscale nightclub in the city. Finding the job quite mind numbing, she quickly moved up the ranks and found herself doing everything from VIP hosting, event planning, cocktailing, managing and finally, bartending. After her stint in Toronto she took off to Ireland to gain some international experience working along side some of Dublin's top cocktail bartenders, and absorb as much information (and liquid) as she could of her homeland's whiskey.
On returning to Canada, Kelsey found her new home in Vancouver and brings back the love of cocktails and whiskey to the Oakwood. Creating a cocktail, whiskey, and beer list that best represents what we can find locally in Canada, and rounds it out with the interesting spirits and cocktails available to us from abroad.
